Germany begins production of the ACS RCH-155 for Ukraine

German self-propelled artillery installations were listed on the military aid list for Kyiv in early December last year.

Germany has begun production of self-propelled artillery mounts (ACS) RCH-155 for Ukraine. About that know Kraus-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) adviser Nicholas Drummond on Twitter.

“The production of Boxer RCH-155 for Ukraine has started,” he said.

It should be noted that on December 7, the German government announced the preparation of 18 RCH-155 self-propelled guns for Ukraine.

German media reported Kyiv’s intentions to buy such a number of installations. They also added that the value of the contract is estimated at 216 million euros.


Remote Controlled Howitzer 155 (RCH-155) – the latest German wheeled self-propelled gun on the 8×8 chassis of the Boxer armored personnel carrier with a 155 mm L52 cannon, with a barrel length of 52 caliber.

It has a range of up to 40 km with conventional projectiles and up to 80 km with the high-precision Vulcano. The RCH-155 can use the long-range Excalibur projectiles. Ammunition module AGM is 30 rounds. Rate of fire is nine rounds per minute.

The self-propelled guns also have a turret from the Pzh2000 self-propelled howitzer, and a chassis from the Boxer armored personnel carrier.

On the highway, the maximum speed reaches 100 km / h, and the mileage at a gas station is up to 700 km. The crew of the vehicle includes two people: the driver and the RCH-155 fire operator.

As we reported earlier, the German government has published a new list of weapons that will be provided to Ukraine as part of military aid. Among this military aid, 18 RCH 155 self-propelled guns are indicated.
