He recalled that 10 judges’ votes are needed for effective voting in the election of the head of the court. And now, there are only 13 judges in the Constitutional Court instead of 18, so every vote is very important. The quorum is 12 judges.
“This is the question. We will wait until the subjects of the appointment of judges fill the vacancies, and we have five of them. Every vote is important for discussing the candidacy of the leader,” said Holovaty and stressed that this objective conditions in which the court now.
Recall that on December 7, the Constitutional Court decided to remove three judges – Irina Zavgorodnya, Sergey Sas and Igor Slidenko.
Previously, the Constitutional Court could not elect a chairman. This happened because the judges did not nominate candidates for this position.
