Ukraine is ready to conduct a military campaign throughout 2023, Sergei Marchenko assured.

In Ukraine, defense and security spending, including military salaries, has increased sixfold since the start of Russia’s all-out assault. Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko said this in an interview for RBC-Ukraine, published on Wednesday, December 28.

“We have stable spending – education, social protection, health care and others. And the military budget has grown six times, now it is 31.7% of GDP, almost half of the budget goes to the security sector and defense,” the minister said.

Marchenko noted that Ukraine is ready to conduct a military campaign throughout 2023.

“Yes, we are ready. We actually have indicators in our budget that speak about this. Of course, there are different forms of intensity of the military campaign. But when we planned the budget for 2023, the most likely scenario was the continuation. of the war. In essence, the task now is to find resources,” said the head of the Ministry of Finance.

Recall that the state budget-2023 set a historical record for defense spending – 1 trillion 141.1 billion Hryvnia or 18.2% of GDP.
