The US blizzard death toll has risen to 64. It was announced on December 27, Tuesday, by NBC News.
Deaths were registered in 12 states, in particular, in Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska. Half of the victims were in New York State.
Most of the deaths were recorded in the western part of the state of New York, in Buffalo and its surroundings: 33 citizens. The county said 25 deaths were directly related to the blizzard, several people were found dead in vehicles, and some died of heart problems.
Due to the heavy rains, people stayed in their homes, traffic on the roads became noticeably more complicated, and the air temperature began to drop sharply.
On Tuesday, it was also reported that about 5,000 flights were canceled in the United States due to the snow storm and another 14,000 flights were delayed.
Note that the storm with a significant drop in air temperature flew from the Great Lakes near Canada to the Rio Grande Canyon along the US-Mexico border.
