Built during the Soviet Union, the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant closed at the end of 2009.
Minsk said Lithuania was allegedly secretly building a “nuclear” grave in the crown along with Belarus. This was announced on Friday, April 29, by the press secretary of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Anatoly Glaz.
“Recently, three new facilities were put into commercial operation at the Ignalina NPP site – an intermediate storage facility for spent nuclear fuel, a complex for the extraction of solid radioactive waste MI -1 and a complex for the extraction of solid radioactive .waste MI-2, MI-3. At the same time, all this work is carried out in secret, ignoring the requirements of the main documents in this area.
This is not a joke. For example, the Lithuanian side, contrary to the basic standards of such an authoritative international organization as the IAEA, has deliberately not allowed the Agency’s main missions to enter the Ignalina NPP site for more than 15 years, ”Glaz said.
“The construction of nuclear repositories directly on the border of the Republic of Belarus, the long -term storage of irradiated nuclear fuel at a site without containment cannot cause us legitimate fears,” he added.
Recall that the Ignalina NPP, built during the Soviet era, was closed at the end of 2009. The complete demolition of the station should be completed by 2038.
Earlier it was reported that most Ukrainian citizens have a negative attitude towards the leaders of Belarus and Russia.
The President of Belarus believes that without a dictatorship in the country, the citizens will “be naked.”
