KFOR did not specify who fired the shots. At the same time, the Serbian portal Politika wrote that the fire was allegedly fired by Albanian special forces who tried to dismantle the barricades near Zubin Potok.
Before that, Kosovo politician Albin Kurti said that “the barricades cannot continue indefinitely.”
Local Serbs, numbering around 50,000 in northern Kosovo, erected barricades after police arrested a former Serb policeman on December 10 on charges of assaulting active law enforcement officers in previous protest.
Recall that between Serbia and Kosovo there was a new aggravation over disputed territories.
