Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said on Thursday that nearly a dozen Russian soldiers had been charged with crimes against civilians in the city of Bucha, a horror recorded in photos and videos made after the departure of Russian troops.
In his latest speech, Zelensky said the top 10 soldiers had “received suspect status” in what some of the leaders called war crimes outside of Kiev. According to the president, the army is the 64th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Ground Forces.
“Their last names are well known. It established what they did. “We know all the details about them and their actions,” Zelensky said. “And we can all find, like all the other Russian bandits who killed and tortured Ukrainians, who tortured our people, destroyed civilian homes and infrastructure in Ukraine.
“None of these idiots can escape responsibility,” he continued. “However, some of them may not survive the trial and a fair sentence. But only for one reason: this Russian brigade was transferred to the Kharkiv region.” There they will take revenge on our army. “

Russian forces left Bucha after at least a month of occupation, causing massive bloodshed. The corpses of civilians were left in the streets, some with coal and others tied with hands and feet. Many victims were shot in the style of the death penalty, mostly men. Pets were also killed and left on the street.
Ukraine has experienced similar atrocities in other cities, such as Mariupol, Kharkiv, Chernigov and Irpin. But the documentation of terrorism and death in Bucha has shocked the world by accepting the level of violence Russia is committing against civilians.
Key players from the United Nations Security Council gathered on Wednesday to encourage an investigation into the atrocities. The informal meeting was attended by the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, the Chairman of the Investigation Commission of the UN Human Rights Council, the Chief Prosecutor of Ukraine and human rights lawyer Amal Clooney.
Ukrainian Attorney General Irina Venediktova has opened more than 8,000 investigations into alleged violations of the laws and customs of war, claiming “Russia’s actions are against humanity and war crimes” and the the sample was “a crime of genocide”.
The French Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations and co-sponsor of the meeting, Natalie Broadhurst, said the images of atrocities committed in Bucha and other parts of Ukraine following the departure of Russian forces were “unbearable “and can be crimes. of war. The United States has already ruled that Russia has committed war crimes in Ukraine.
Russia has denied responsibility for any atrocities and has repeatedly claimed that its troops are only destroying neo-Nazis in a small country.
“The crimes committed by the Russian military against our people are being investigated,” Zelensky said. “Ukraine’s position is absolutely clear: all Russian criminals must be punished and held accountable.” Whoever they are and wherever they hide, we will find them all and hold them accountable. “
