Oil products enter the Dniester

A section of the river is being studied for the possibility of installing booms.

Due to the entry of oil products into the Dniester River in the Lviv region in the city of Galich, Ivano-Frankivsk region, significant pollution of the Dniester was discovered, the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk OVA Svetlana Onishchuk told Telegram.

“Yesterday, on December 24, oil products entered the Dniester River in the Lviv region. As a result, oil pollution of the Dniester in the city of Galich was detected. Laboratory studies showed an excess of permitted standards of 200 times. Residents of the surrounding communities were informed,” said Onischuk.

According to the head of the Regional State Administration, on Sunday morning, employees of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the region arrived in the village. Recall that in mid-2023, an agreement will be signed between Ukraine and Moldova on the construction of a road bridge across the Dniester at the common border.
