Security wall repair
While detours are in place, traffic is closed so workers can repair the 500-metre central safety wall between Port-de-Ren and Bute-Landes.
At the same time, concrete foundations will be constructed to accommodate future signaling devices. They will be installed between Porte de Gesvres and the Chapelle-sur-Erdre intersection, as well as between Porte de Gesvres and Porte de la Chapelle.
Full traffic closures are planned for the first four nights of the next three weeks, Monday November 21 to Thursday November 24, Monday November 28 to Thursday December 1 and Monday December 5 to Thursday December 8.
The long-awaited new exchange
The work undertaken at the Porte de Gesvres aims to reduce frequent traffic problems in this section, which is used by an average of 87,000 vehicles per day.
The project, scheduled for a total of 36 months, includes the creation of two new link roads between the A11 motorway and the ring road. In particular, it implies the construction of two bridges with traffic lanes. “This major project will save Porte de Rennes and Porte de la Chapelle 30% in travel time (by 2044), while traffic is expected to increase by more than 25% on the ring road.the website managers claim.
