Lorena Fernandez, a family lawyer, clarified that the compulsory heirs of an inheritance are those who are related to the estate of the deceased according to an order of succession that starts with spouses or children, followed by parents, and then cousins.
In the RPP sequence “Family and Justice”, he pointed out that people who marry because of separate property after the death of a husband or wife can inherit, but despite the fact that they married with separate property, they do not inherit in first, and in the third order, since in this case the first will be the parents of the deceased, the children and, finally, the spouse.
Our specialist also clarified that not because a person dies with him, debts die, since obligations to third parties must be paid, and not to banking structures, where preferential insurance is applied.
The lawyer specified that these debts to third parties would be repaid within the limits of the inheritance left by the deceased.
