Who will dethrone Metz-Ville, chosen as “the most beautiful station in France” for three years in a row? The mayor of the city stated that his station will not be a candidate for his succession in order to leave room for competition. During the last edition, in January 2021, the main station of Moselle won by several hundred votes against Saint-Brio and Limoges-Benedictine. 150 thousand Internet users participated in this issue.
All it takes is a chance to be one of the 36 stations competing for the fourth edition of the #PlusBelleGareDeFrance competition, organized since 2017 by Gares & Connexions, the SNCF subsidiary that operates the passenger stations. Among the candidates are beautiful jewels of railway heritage classified as historical monuments, such as Tours, La Rochelle and Strasbourg.
Three stations in one region
The pre-selection was carried out by the SNCF Gares & Connexions teams and made it possible to determine 36 finalists, i.e. three stations per region. From this Thursday, September 1, it is the turn of Internet users to designate their favorite station. Every day until Friday, September 16, the Gares & Connexions Facebook page and Instagram account highlight the region. To vote, just mention the name of the station in the comment.
At the end of this first round, twelve stations (one in each region) will be able to enter the finals. Internet users will be invited to vote online again from September 19 to 30 to decide between them. The name of the winner will be announced on October 5.
