The location of Mob House is a challenge in itself. Saint-Ouen! Across the ring road in Saint-Saint-Denis, this hotel appears like a mirage in an eclectic urban setting, bordered by a field of clover. There is a heated swimming pool (20 meters long, 5 meters wide), a restaurant with a very creative design and one hundred XXL rooms (from 55 to 120 m2). Cyril Aoizerat, who invented the place, signs his second crowd in Saint-Ouen, assisted by Michel Rabiere, head of La Reserve, and Philippe Starck, in charge of decoration. A gold-toothed bar, tables set up in the corner of the library with soft lighting, strange wicker armchairs, texts of authors illuminated on large walls… It’s beautiful, but nothing crazy, an atmosphere of déjà vu, as if Stark activated the photocopier. . More fun in toilets, twist interviews with Francis Bacon and Max Ernst.
The Mob House concept was imported from Brooklyn, rooms that combine three spaces: a bed, a desk, and a meeting space for reception. With a set of partitions, each part is isolated according to their use. A woven bathrobe in the bathroom, between a dressing gown and a flamethrower, with a cloth, leaves us speechless. This “three in one” wants to appeal to businessmen and families who are tired of Paris and whose establishment offers space and an eco-responsible approach. The soundtrack (French music only), full volume, drowns out any attempt at dialogue, and it’s hard to hear the young crew in trendy overalls. The table is a bit expensive (pork chop to share, 65 euros), the accommodation too (up to 1200 euros), if we remember that we are still in Saint-Ouen, but we are forgiven, won by the idea that in the ulcers we still know, how to have fun 100 rooms. From €250 to €1,200 per night.

A drawing house or a delicate flower of creativity
A return to on-campus Paris at Drawing House, with no connection to its predecessor, which opened in Montparnasse at the beginning of the summer under a much assumed identity. This hotel unlike any other offers an introduction to the delicate flower of contemporary young creativity, guided by the must-see Drawing Now Art Fair, the Parisian art fair with which it shares the same team. Chosen for the three artists Mathieu Dufoy, Carine Rougi and the Florentine and Alexandre Lamarche-Ovize collective who decorate the 143 rooms spread over nine floors. Carpets, wallpapers and headboards are their business. A firework of colors for some, a play of minimalist shapes and shadows for others. As soon as the elevator doors open, we jump in with both feet into a giant comic book look. Art is everywhere, in the lobby, in the restaurant and around the indoor pool, which offers a spectacular panoramic view. A fun enough set to the point where we don’t want to sleep anymore. Because, as in Mob House, this new generation of hotels doesn’t quite encourage us to join Morphée, whose arms struggle to reach out. From 190 to 350 € per night.
