A silly joke on a plane can have serious consequences. A passenger on Air France-KLM’s subsidiary Dutch company Transavia recently paid the price, according to Air Journal. After taking off on a flight from Rotterdam-The Hague Airport to Zadar, Croatia, on August 10, the 18-year-old saw fit to AirDrop an image of the plane crash. The thing is, the notification was seen by many passengers and crew members whose Apple-branded phones were still on.
Blacklisted
The captain, quite irritated, stated that he would not fly until the passenger in question denounced him. The latter eventually surrendered and was evacuated from the flight by the local police. The flight was able to depart with a delay of about thirty minutes.
A Transavia spokesman said the company was taking the incident “very seriously”. As a result, the passenger was put on the “black list” by the company, forbidding him to appear at the boarding gates of the plane with a green logo. He is also threatened with legal prosecution. According to him, the broadcast of the image was a “joke”. It is not certain that it had the expected effect.
