A huge plume of black smoke rises above already burnt and charred pines from fires around Landiras in the Gironde in mid-July. The posters in support of the firefighters posted on the walls of the parks did not manage to be taken down. The fire was under control at the end of July, but the terrible scenario happened. Since Tuesday afternoon, firefighters have been dealing with the resumption of fires in the Hostens and Saint-Magnes sections. In less than 24 hours, 6,200 hectares were burned and 10,000 people were evacuated. In July, around 14,000 hectares of this area were already covered in smoke.
No casualties have been reported. On Tuesday-Wednesday, 17 houses were destroyed as a result of fires in Belin Belie.
