While some board the TGV for Colmar or Bar-le-Duc, others climb to the roof of the Gare de l’Est. Brilliantly restored in 2008, the Gare de l’Est is one of the most beautiful in Paris. With its classic 1850s architecture overlooked by its pediment decorated with glass and steel half-pipes and statuary, this site, formerly known as “Strasbourg Station”, closes the perspective of the north-south axis pierced by Baron Haussmann. From the terrace there is a rather unexpected view of the tower of Saint-Jacques. The atmosphere is festive in this hanging garden decor of 400 m2, with metal and wooden structure benches, white cushions and rattan chairs. Music is also in the center of attention. we dance there to a great selection of music, enough to really enjoy the summer.
Where are we going? After entering from Hall Saint-Martin, to the right of the main entrance, you go through security and then a second before going up to the first floor.

Les Piaules, Hostel The People, Paris 12th
Halfway between a classic youth hostel and a boutique hotel, The People hostels offer a different way to discover Paris. At the foot of Nation Square, this second facility, designed by architectural firm Michaelis Boyd, opened its doors last year. We fell in love with the eco-responsible wooden building with a green roof that is populated with several beehives to encourage biodiversity. But the highlight of the establishment is undoubtedly its terrace. As a continuation of the bar-restaurant, it offers one of the most beautiful views of Paris. It is well seen that the kitchen is unique with fine springs.
