Starting this Tuesday, July 12, the hot finger of climate change rested on one of the lungs of France, the largest forest mass in the West. Almost 20 thousand hectares of forest have burned and are still burning in the Gironde and near the gates of the Landes department. The Landes de Gascogne forest now lacks more of the city of Paris. If this seems small considering the total surface area of the massif, it should not be forgotten that there is still about a million hectares that threaten to become a victim of fire. Both of our divisions are also subject to fires very regularly and we measure the fragility and vulnerability of this forest area on a daily basis.
