Congresswoman Gladys Echaise decided to join the Renovación Popular faction. This was announced on Tuesday by his colleague on the bench. Jorge Montoyawho noted that she accepted the official invitation given to her.
“We invited her and are waiting for her response until today. She has already accepted, and we have made a corresponding letter to pass it on to a high-ranking official. Unfortunately, this information should have been given tomorrow, not today (about Ehaise’s nomination to the Board of Directors), which we will see in the caucus we will have,” said Congressman Montoya in Everything is known from RPP.
Jorge Montoya claimed that he had always been Gladys Echaise to run as a candidate for the presidency of the Congress, but stressed that they would only see him at the next meetings.
“I think that (Gladys Ehaise) is a woman with the necessary skills for this position, but this should be determined at tomorrow’s meeting of the judging panel. We have not spoken to other judging panels on this subject,” he said.
Congresswoman Gladys Ehaise resigned last Friday from the Alianza para el Progreso (APP) bench as part of the last day of the first legislative assembly of Congress.
The notice was made public at a time when a vote was being held to return to the bicameral system, which was approved by the plenum but must be ratified in a referendum.
“I am pleased to address you to welcome you and at the same time to inform you that, for reasons of conscience, I have decided to withdraw from the Alliance for Progress parliamentary group, which you represent,” the statement said.
APP explains the resignation of Gladys Echaiz impatiently
Alianza para el Progreso (APP) general secretary Luis Valdes Farias attributed the impatience and political inexperience of last Friday’s resignation of congressmen Héctor Acuña and Gladys Echais from the political group’s parliamentary caucus after they shuffled their names as possible candidates for chairman of the Congress Board of Directors and apparently lost support within the party.
In the News Extension of PTRValdez said his party’s Executive Committee is still evaluating “each of the possibilities” in terms of his aspiration to become Congress President, a process he indicated “takes time.”
He pointed out that among his possible candidates were Ekhaiz and Akunya, but they respect his decision, and pointed out that strengthening the institutions of the party and the interests of the country is above individuality.
