The Lima and Callao Urban Transport Authority (ATU) announced today that additional corridor buses will operate as normal on Tuesday 28 June. This is despite the fact that Association of Urban Transport Concessionaires (ACTU) has announced the suspension of its services from tomorrow.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) authorized the transfer of 12 million 526 076 salts in favor of the ATO. This finally helped the runners not to paralyze their activity.
As noted FEMmoney will serve YOU to finance the continuity of service to the population by surface public transport. The ACTU indicated that the measure would be taken as a protest “due to the laziness of various government bodies” for not paying compensation for March, April and May of this year.
In addition, the organization assured that line 1 of the Lima and Callao metro, as well as metropolitan services, will also operate as usual.
“Attention users! We inform you that tomorrow, Tuesday, June 28, all services will work as usual. We are #ATuServicio!” the City Transport Authority said in a statement.
Carriers’ strike: the government and proposals for its solution
Justice Minister Felix Chéro, the executive’s spokesman for the transport unions, said yesterday that dialogue with the sector “was not exhausted” before the start of the strike in 14 regions of the country.
“[Se] He is talking to all the sectors that are declaring some kind of fight. We believe that the dialogue of the executive power is constant, it is constant […] They have to give us an answer between 3 and 4 p.m. because they went to see the combined proposals that the executive made to them,” Chero told the media.
In this sense, Chero considers the government’s proposals “extremely reasonable” and hopes that the said forceful measure will not be carried out.
“The minister of economy and the deputy minister of transport are constantly talking to them, we have been declared a permanent council of ministers, and we reasonably hope that tomorrow the declared strike will not be successful,” he said.
On Sunday evening, the government declared a state of emergency on the national road network, which includes national, regional and county or rural roads, for 30 days in order for the National Police to maintain internal order with the support of the Armed Forces, as a measure to stop the indefinite strike of carriers.
