Skytrax has just released its annual ranking of the world’s best airports (World Airport Awards 2022). The British company, which was created in the field, annually nominates a kind of “Oscar” for the aviation industry, distinguishing between airports and airlines, which are best appreciated by travelers.
As in 2021, the first place goes to the share Doha: -Hamad, In Qatar. The top 10 is mainly dominated by Asia-Pacific airports, including the airport Tokyo: (Haneda ար Narita), i Singapore Changi և: Seoul Incheon. The surprise of the 2022 winners is the airport Paris -CDG: It is ranked 6th in the world (15th in 2021) and thus becomes the best airport in Europe. Skytrax’s 2022 ranking is published at a time when several European airports are down due to a lack of land-based flight crews. Several airlines are forced to cut flights this summer, such as easyJet և Lufthansa. Unmanned queues in recent weeks have paralyzed Amsterdam-Schiphol-London-Gatwick airports, both of which announced flight cuts in July and August.
