As a result of multiple accidents on Sunday morning, four were injured at the height of the Primavera bridge on the Panamericana-Sur highway in the Santiago de Surco area.
The accident occurred as a white private car was traveling on a north-south road in one of the lanes when it swerved and hit a blue motorcycle carrying vegetables, which ended up crashing into the motorcycle.
The driver and his wife were in a motorcart. The latter was injured after being thrown out of the vehicle in the collision. While the line motorcycle was ridden by a couple who suffered minor injuries.
Four people were transferred to the San Pablo clinic in San Pablo. Groove. However, the driver of the white car, named Pedro Valverde Pinedo, was detained by the authorities and fell asleep in the patrol car of the Peruvian National Police (PNP). According to police, the suspect appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
The accident left the merchandise on the pavement of the Panamericana Sur Highway and many of the merchandise was damaged by vehicle traffic in the area.
“I was drunk”
One of the motorcycle rider’s family members arrived at the scene of the accident to demand that Pedro Valverde Pinedo take responsibility for damaged goods and medical expenses.
“My brother was injured. The man who hit him was drunk. His wife was injured and so was he. My brother is conscious, but my daughter-in-law was hurt the most,” he said. “That he recognizes goods and expenses in the clinic,” he added.
The vehicles and the driver of the vehicle that caused the accident were taken to the Chacarilla del Estanque police station in Groove.
