Agency for Supervision of Investments in Public Infrastructure (ositran) explained that the new general rules for the use of parking at Jorge Chavez International Airport (AIJC) aim to guarantee the safety of all users and mandate the use of terminal parking, avoiding situations of risk to the physical integrity of people and traffic congestion.
“The General Conditions and Rules for the Use of the Parking Lot at the AOSC, which will come into force on March 1, establishes the norms of conduct and rules that must be observed in order to improve the conditions for the efficiency and quality of service for the thousands of passengers who pass through the parking lot every day,” the message says.
The regulator explained that taxi drivers are not prevented from offering their services, but they are provided in an orderly manner without affecting or disturbing users. “For this reason, taxis are not prohibited from entering AIJC to drop off and pick up passengers when the user has requested it,” he noted.
He clarified that it is required that taxi services not be offered aloud, through “haladores”, physically and/or verbally abuse passengers or any user or attendants at the AIJC parking lot, and not obstruct vehicle or any other means, foot traffic from or to passenger terminal.
