San Juan de Miraflores: Street vendor seriously injured after shooting

A woman was injured early this Wednesday morning after shooting was recorded at a location located in Los Girazoles Giron, near the Alipio Bridge, in San Juan de Miraflores.

Victim identified as Maria Luisa Aicho Quispe (38), was wounded by bullets in the stomach and shoulder.

She was transferred to Maria Auxiliadora Hospital, where her health condition is said to be unstable.

Merchants in the area stated that Maria Luisa Aicho Quispe she is a single mother and street food vendor.

According to area residents, a group of people were outside the premises when three unidentified men approached the Panamericana-Sur Highway, and one block away, they began shooting at customers before fleeing.

Two white vans parked outside the property prevented more people from being injured.

“If there were no trucks (bullets) there, there would have been several deaths. They covered people because they were eating there (…) it was like a machine gun fire,” said a local merchant.

Residents also noted that this place was with people inside, as meetings and parties are secretly held there.
