In the picture, the globular cluster is a dense, crowded field of stars.
The Hubble Space Telescope took a picture of the stars in the Terzan 4 globular cluster. Globular clusters are collections of celestial bodies held together by their mutual gravitational attraction and can contain millions of individual stars, the observatory’s website says.
This observation comes from astronomers using Hubble to study Terzan 4 and other globular clusters to understand their shape, density, age and structure near the center of the Milky Way.
Experts took advantage of the sensitivity of two Hubble instruments – the Advanced Camera for Surveys and Wide Field Camera 3 – to overcome the impact of the Terzan 4 extinction event.
Recall that the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) spacecraft on the Red Planet took a picture of the dunes called barkhan dunes.
