The American company SpaceX aims to perform 100 launches of its spacecraft in low Earth orbit by 2023. This was announced by its leader and founder Elon Musk.
“Yes, we are aiming for up to 100 launches next year,” he wrote yesterday in Twitteranswering a question from Ars Technica reporter Eric Berger.
SpaceX expects to launch up to 60 Falcon 9 rockets into orbit this year. So far, the company has conducted 39, so it launches a rocket every 6.2 days on average. To reach the goal of 100 launches, the rocket needs to be launched every 3.65 days.
At the same time, 31 Falcon 9 launches were made throughout 2021.
Recall that in August SpaceX successfully tested the booster for the Starship rocket a month after the previous attempt ended in an explosion.
