A new study showed that a significant portion of the world’s population with diabetes remains unincoming or not receiving proper treatment, Science Daily reports. The review conducted the Institute of Indicator and an assessment of health at the University of Washington with the International Network of Scientists, covering data from 2000 to 2023 to 204 countries and territories.
“By 2050, 1.3 billion people will live with diabetes, and if almost half do not suspect serious and potentially deadly diseases, it can be a truly quiet epidemic,” said Lorin Stafford, a top -set from Ihme.
According to estimates, in 2023, 44% of people 15 years of age and older with diabetes do not know about their illness. The highest level of non -spilation is identified in young adults, which at the same time has an increased risk of long -term complications.

The study also revealed significant differences in the region. In North America, the best diagnostic indicators are recorded with high levels of revenue, in the Asian region -Pacific – the highest level of treatment of the reviews, and South Latin America is the leader in optimal glucose control. At the same time, in the middle of Africa south of the Sahara, less than 20% of people with diabetes are aware of their condition.
