The consequences of artificial sweeteners are to avoid obesity, unlike ordinary sweet drinks, learning is shown.
New data from Australia asks the reputation of dietary beverages as a safe alternative to sweet carbonated water. According to New Atlas, the study lasting for nearly 14 years has shown: the use of a dietary canal jar day -day increases the risk of type 2 diabetes by 38%.
The work conducted by University of Monks researchers occupies more than 36 thousand people aged 40 to 69 years. Studying the data of participants in the Australian cohort study framework, scientists compared the consumption of both sugar drinks and artificial sweeteners -from rare use to day -to -day.
The results are unexpected: the risk of diabetes with regular use of dietary beverages is higher than that of consuming sweets. At the same time, the connection between ordinary carbonated water and diabetes is almost completely lost when obesity factors are considered – instead, the risk of the group of sweeteners remains high even after adjusting the body mass index and the waist volume.
This indicates that the action of artificial sweeteners can circulate in obesity. Among the possible causes is the effect on the intestinal microflora or a change in glucose metabolism. Some sweeteners, such as aspartam and sucolosis, may affect insulin levels, cause glucose tolerance or even violate the body’s ability to accurately respond to sweets.
Those who have a study set call for a change of food policy. “We support taxes on sweet drinks, but don’t forget about dieting options that can also be at risk,” Professor Barbobora de Kurten emphasized. According to him, the current food policy often ignores the potential risks of drinking sounds, and new data indicates: artificial sweet products require less attention than sugar.
