The Ukrainian Polar Explorer from the academic Vernadsky Antarctic Station shared a unique picture of an seal-coating (sea leopard), which depends on an ice floor in the middle of the ocean.
The photo was taken by a 30-30 expedition biologist Zoya Shvidkaya, according to the National Anti-Sienific Center.
In the picture, the seal is calmly flying on a piece of ice, and above it the “painted” sky with sunset in unusual colors: from pink to blueberry purple.
Polards explain that such a wonder -wonderful sky is characteristic of the Antarctic winter. At this time, the sun will barely rise above the reach, and the light passes the longer path to the environment. Therefore, short blue waves are “removed”, giving way to longer – red and pink. Clouds and reflection of Antarctic from snow, ice and water around the island of Galindez also change the palette.
