Asteroid 2003 AY2, the size of a skyscraper, will approach the planet this week. Despite the relatively safe distance, the object is considered potentially dangerous.

According to astronomers, the length of the object is approximately 393 meters -it’s almost like a 100 -Story skyscraper. The asteroid flies near the ground at a distance of about 5.43 million kilometers.
Although at first glance, this distance may seem great, according to NASA’s classification, all things approaching less than 7.5 million kilometers and measures of more than 150 meters are considered potentially dangerous.
Asteroid 2003 has fallen under this same standard, but scientists are soothing: at present there is no direct threat of a collision on the ground.
