Models show record autonomy and the best results in programming and logical activities.
The Anthropic announces Claude Opus 4 and Claude Sonnet 4 – a new generation of Hybrid AI models that are optimized for programming and solving complex problems, reports The Verge.
According to the company, the flagship model Claude Opus 4 has become the strongest in anthropical history and has been able to work autonomy in activities without stopping for a few hours. In customers’ tests, Opus 4 showed stable work without human participation for seven hours later, which significantly expands the possibilities of creating autonomous AI agents.
Anthropic says Opus 4 is the best AI model for programming today. On the internal benchmarks, he surpassed competitors, especially Google Gemini 2.5 Pro, Openai O3 reasoning and GPT-4.1-both in coding and working on instruments such as a webpa.
A more affordable Claude Sonnet 4 model is positioned as an effective solution for a wide range of tasks. He replaced the Sonnet 3.7 version, which was released in February. Sonnet 4 provides more accurate answers, enhanced logical thinking and programming. Both new models, such as the company note, are 65% less looking for ways to assess and better maintain important information for long activities, especially when providing access to local files.
Among the new functioning is the “thinking of summary”, which compressively provides the logic of the model reasoning, and “expanded thinking” -Beta -Mode, where the user can move the model between evaluation modes or use tools to achieve more accurate results.
Claude Opus 4 and Sonnet 4 are already available by API from the Anthropic, as well as the Amazon Bedrock and Google Cloud Vertex AI. They include Claude paid plan with “Extended Thinking” function. Free account users can only use sonnet 4.
The company also announced moving to a more frequent update of its models to maintain competitors such as Openai, Google and Meta.
We will remind you, earlier it was reported that Google had introduced the AI-generator video with a sound.
