Two tourists, walking with Carcon, stuck in a cache with gold coins, jewelry and artifacts in the 20th century.
In the northern -east of the Czech Republic, in the mountains of Kkonosh, the two tourists were accidentally stabbed in a historical treasure during the walk, CNN reported.
On the slope of the forest, they reached an aluminum box stuck to the stone wall. Inside are gold bracelets, powders, a comb, 17 cigarettes and about 600 gold coins.
The total weight of the coins is 3.7 kg, and the initial estimate is about 360 thousand dollars. Tourists moved all things to the Museum of East Bohemia. Found was a surprise to scientists, as not one of the coins belongs to the Czech Republic: half has a Balkan origin, the other part is French.
As Numismat Wojtheh Bredla noted, this is an uninitiated situation: “Usually those found in the Czech Republic have since the 20th century contain the main coins of German and Czechoslovak. Ay, that I will have such coins.
The historians suggest that the cache could leave before World War II or its last period in 1945, when the Germans left the land. There is also a version that it is a private collection – maybe a museum worker or smuggler.
Mary Geymann, an expert in Czechoslovakia from Cardiff University (Great Britain), has mentioned that the oldest coin from cache dates in 1921.
Corgans have not yet opened – researchers suggest that there may be additional items or even documents inside. After a full assessment, they plan to put wealth in a public collection.
According to Czech law, archaeological founds have become regional ownership. However, one who found them is entitled to a financial reward – its size will be determined after a complete assessment of historical and material value.
Earlier it was reported that in the Podolsky district of the Odessa region they found a wealth of Crimean Khanate time.
In Poland, they discovered gold coins from the century XVIII
