Although the caves were discovered in 2023, the found was not publicly reported so that the park was managed to prepare and limit the access of visitors to the facility. One of the first steps is the message of the Institute of the National Historical and Artistic Heritage of Brazil, which is now monitoring the protection of the object. Also, surveillance cameras were installed in the park and conducted an information campaign with staff to maintain the monument.
Scientists believe that these drawings may be among hunting communities living here 2,000-3,000 years ago. Currently, studies are ongoing, but the main emphasis is on maintaining something from vandalism and unauthorized excavation.
