The annual shipment turnover on the new route will be about 220 thousand standard containers in both directions.
The Sinopec Chinese Petrochemical Company announced the completion of the construction of the first interregional line in the country intended for heavy trucks operating on hydrogen fuel, Xinhuanet reports.
The new route, which is already used for regular freight transportation, reaches 1150 km-from Chunzin city in southwestern China to Qingzhou harbor in Guangsi-Schuansky Autonomous regions in the southern country, passing through the province of Guizhou.
In regions where the “hydrogen corridor” passes, hydrogen production technologies are actively introduced, in particular, the electrolysis of water and the degeneration of ammonia. Thanks to the industrial production, over 400 thousand tons of hydrogen per year as a by -product, this region has the potential to provide fuel up to 360 thousand trucks operating with hydrogen.
To support the stable hydrogen infrastructure, Sinopec has built four filling stations along the highway, which will provide incessant fuel for shipment transportation.
In addition to the significance of transportation, the highway also plays the role of an industry unit. It is hoped that the annual shipment transfer is about 220 thousand standard containers in two directions.
Remember, earlier it was reported that Hyundai showed an updated hydrogen electric car.
Honda will launch its hydrogen technology in space
