CloudFlare introduced the new AI Labyrinth initiative, aimed at combating bots that scan websites without permission to collect data and further use in AI training, register reports.
Instead of the traditional blocking of such bots, Cloudflare offers to use generative artificial intelligence to create a network of pages with artificial content, making bots to spend resources with unnecessary information.
This technology automatically detects the weakening of bots of bots and has been redirected to specially created pages that have developed and tested using CloudFlare AI workers to avoid security and performance problems.
The goal is to increase the cost of scanning for BOTs operators, forcing them to spend more resources in processing unnecessary content. In addition, Cloudflare considers these tactics as a new way to see the activity of bots, as no one will cross many links to the maze of unaware content.
The company came up with the idea of AI Labyrinth, when they noticed that almost one percent of all requests for accessing the web content they see came from search bots with artificial intelligence. AI Labyrinth is available for all CloudFlare customers.
