A new record has been set. Despite a very tense macroeconomic and geopolitical environment, French tech startups raised more than €8.4 billion in funding in the first half of 2022, according to the EY venture capital barometer.
That’s a 63 percent increase compared to the same period in 2021, while the number of surgeries was slightly lower (362 versus 416). French Tech is very durable. The second quarter saved an excellent June in terms of funding by €2.2 billion.” explains Frank Sebag, partner at EY and author of the study. That is almost as much as the whole of 2017. “The French ecosystem is very resilient and the fundamentals are excellent. In 2022, companies have cash and customers.” confirms Partech Managing Partner Philippe Colombel.
