It is assumed that the device will drill ice, take samples and analyze them on site.
Scientists are urging NASA to launch a mission called the Mars Life Explorer (MLE) to search for life on the Red Planet. If agreed, this order could begin in the 2030s. This was reported by Space.com.
In particular, the MLE will look for signs of life on ice near the surface of Mars. As expected, the device will drill the ice to a depth of up to six centimeters, take samples and examine them on the spot. In total, the drilling rig of the apparatus can reach depths of up to two meters.
The lander is likely to work in parallel with the Sample Return Initiative, a joint NASA-European Space Agency campaign aimed at bringing samples collected by the Perseverance rover back to Earth in 2033, scientists said.
It was previously reported that NASA’s system showed the front line in Ukraine and the hottest spot.
