Hosted by this week’s Big Bang Economy guest that FigaroJean-Michel Jarre has been interested in the metaverse for several years. On December 31, 2020, he performed a concert in the fully immersive “digitalized” Notre-Dame de Paris.
LE FIGARO. – How long have you been interested in the metaverse?
Jean Michel Jar. – I read a science fiction book snow accident (Virtual SamuraiEd) of Neal Stevenson, who coined the term “metaverse”. New immersive virtual spaces and virtual reality headsets pursue the same goal as literature or cinema in their time; project us into another universe. We are just one step ahead.
When did you start the adventure?
With the album Equinox Infinity, in 2018 I uploaded videos to The Wave VR platform. I collaborated with Australian digital artist Sutu for this.
