The SpaceX Crew Dragon crew will not be able to return to Earth this week due to Hurricane Milton, the landing has been rescheduled for October 13.
Powerful Hurricane Milton forced NASA to delay the return of the SpaceX Crew Dragon crew from the International Space Station. Space reported it.
The astronauts were originally scheduled to land this week, but due to poor weather conditions, their flight to Earth will not take place until October 13.
According to NASA, the decision was made on October 7 due to the threat of Hurricane Milton on the Florida peninsula. The crew plans to undock from the ISS at 3:05 am Eastern Time, but the exact date still depends on weather conditions.
“NASA and SpaceX plan to lift off Crew-8 from the International Space Station no earlier than 3:05 a.m. ET on Sunday, October 13 due to weather conditions and the potential impact of Hurricane Milton on the Florida Peninsula, ” said the space agency.
NASA astronaut Matthew Dominick, aboard the SpaceX Crew Dragon Endeavor, photographed the storm from the ship’s window, and the space agency also released a time-lapse video of the storm’s “eye” taken from ISS.
It was previously reported that NASA astronauts on the ISS recorded a bright green flash above Earth caused by a meteor entering the atmosphere.
