For the first time in 18 years: the world will see the parade of five planets

Using binoculars or a telescope, you can also see Uranus between Venus and the Moon. Over the next few months, the planets will scatter and the line will split.

Astronomers have revealed a rare alignment of five planets that blind the night sky. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn will be consecutive for the first time in 18 years. It will happen on June 24 at 4:10 a.m., Science Focus wrote.

It was noted that the last time the planets were aligned in this way was in 2004, and it will not be repeated until 2040.

One of the best things about this planetary alignment is the light. In a clear sky, it should be visible even from large and small cities. For the inspection, you need to place yourself in an unobstructed view of the east and south horizons.

“A waning crescent moon will join the party from 23rd to 25th June and will mark the relative position of the Earth between Venus and Mars. From 26th June, the Moon will start moving closer to the horizon view, retreating back to planetary order, first beyond Venus and then Mercury, before slipping across the horizon to the left of the planets.

Saturn will be the first of the planets to appear, rising to the horizon shortly before midnight. Saturn’s rings contribute to its brightness (and therefore our ability to see it with the naked eye), and like much in astronomy, the appearance of Saturn’s rings is circular. When viewed from Earth, the planet is gradually becoming edge-on, and by 2025 it will be fully edge-on.

Jupiter will rise next. It will shine brightly, more than twice as bright as Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky, and will be in the constellation of Pisces.

Mars will rise and join Jupiter in Pisces.

Venus will be the penultimate of the planets, which will be the brightest member of the line. It is in the constellation of Taurus.

Mercury, the fifth and last planet, will join Venus in Taurus and remain close to the horizon until 4:43 AM sunrise will remove the planets from the sky.

Recall that an international team of astronomers announced the discovery of a new super-Earth exoplanet orbiting a nearby M-dwarf star known as Ross 508.
