In this image, NGC 4423 appears to be somewhat irregular, tubular in shape, so it can be considered a spiral.
The Hubble Space Telescope photographed the galaxy NGC 4423, which is 55 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo. This is reported by the ESA Observatory.
It is noted that in the image this space object has a somewhat irregular, tubular shape. So we can assume it is spiral.
Scientists describe it as a galaxy with a dense central bulge and a partially filled outer disk (the part made up of the spiral arms).
Up close, NGC 4423 has the typical features of spiral galaxies – curved arms extending from a bright center interspersed with fainter, darker, less populated regions. However, during the observations, astronomers were limited to the location of the Earth relative to the objects, so the angle of the image of NGC 4423 is quite unusual.
It was previously reported that the ESA Mars Express spacecraft took a picture of the Red Planet’s north pole territory.
