“Matveychik was born in our maternity ward and after several days of observation in the intensive care unit, he was taken to the operating room. The intervention took place in several stages: first, the surgeons removed the tumors, then performed a soft tissue plastic surgery and anorectoplasty So, thanks to just one intervention, doctors were able to completely correct the congenital defect.” , – hospital report.
Almost at the same time as Matveychik, hospital surgeon Galina Kurilo operated on Yarinka and Zlatochka with the same tumors. The condition of the three operated children is satisfactory and they can now be discharged home.
“We have never had such a number of babies born almost simultaneously with congenital teratomas. There were more cases of this pathology when we opened our own maternity ward in our hospital. Now our specialists are can provide a full range of care to babies in a ” Reminder of our doctors: although teratomas are a rare malformation in babies, they are subject to surgical correction and are not an indication for termination of pregnancy ,” the statement said.
