A supercomputer is capable of performing quintillion (billion billion) operations per second.
The fastest supercomputer in the world will appear in 2024. We are talking about the exoflop machine JUPITER – short for Joint Annefte Pioneer for Innovative and Transformative Exascale Research. New Scientist writes about it.
The vehicle will be built at the Jülich Research Center in Germany.
The device will help scientists create complex AI models for their developments and experiments.
Currently, there are only two devices in the world that can perform this type of calculation: the Frontier machine from Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee and the Aurora machine from Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois.
We remind you that the fastest supercomputer was launched in Finland.
