Previously, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the demand for Optimus could be between 10 and 20 billion units.
Tesla has unveiled its second-generation humanoid robot, Optimus Gen 2, which is designed to perform a number of tasks normally performed by humans. This was reported by Electrek.
The new version of the humanoid robot can walk 30% faster. The company also claims weight reduction of ten kilograms while improving balance.
It has been noted that one of the most difficult parts in creating a useful humanoid robot is the hands. They must be strong enough to support large weights, but precise enough to handle delicate objects. Therefore, Tesla showed how the robot transfers the eggs with two fingers from one hand to the other.
The company said it plans to soon start using the robot in its own production. And after it proves its usefulness, it is planned to start selling it.
