During archaeological work, a statue of the Dancing Muse, which is 2175 years old, was found on the site of the ancient city of Stratonikeia. It was reported by Arkeonews.
Today, on the site of the ancient city is the village of Eskihisar in the province of Mugla. It measures seven kilometers.
According to the publication, the work of art was discovered inside the frigidarium of a Roman bath. However, the head and arms of the sculpture are missing.
In the past, a copy of the statue of the Dancing Muse was found in the Roman baths of the ancient city of Perge, as well as in Rhodes, indicating its wide popularity during the Roman period.
It is believed that the Dancing Muses were created by Philiscus, a famous sculptor of the 2nd century. B.C. Many reproductions of this work from the Roman period exist throughout Anatolia and Greece, but the statue discovered from Stratonicea is his only authentic work from the Hellenistic period.

Once the work is completed, the statue will be displayed at the Muğla Museum.
It was previously reported that tombs with artifacts dating back to about 4.5 thousand years were found in China.
