The Appellate Chamber of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court refused to dismiss the head of the Ternopil Regional Council, Mikhail Golovko, who was exposed for extortion and taking a bribe from a volunteer businessman. “The prosecutor noted the reasonableness of the suspicion and the existence of risks associated with the said person’s stay in office, since the alleged crime is closely related to the position held by the suspect, however, the appeal example upheld the decision of the investigating judge, who denied the removal application,” SAPO said. .

It is reported that a measure of restraint in the form of bail with the imposition of procedural duties set by the investigating judge continues to operate against the suspect.

It is known that the decision of the court of Appeals Chamber of VAKS is final.

It should be remembered that the head of the Ternopil Regional Council and two deputies of the head of the Ternopil OVA were charged with extorting a bribe from a volunteer businessman in the amount of approximately UAH 2.4 million. The officers were caught on June 26.
