The image of the Red Planet to Earth comes from the camera of the Mars Express spacecraft every 50 seconds.

The first broadcast in orbit of Mars, conducted by the European Space Agency, took place. The image of the planet was sent by the Mars Express probe. About this on Friday, June 2, wrote the Daily Mail.

The stream started at 17.00 Kyiv time. Mars Express sent pictures of the planet every 50 seconds. It took 3 to 22 minutes to deliver the signal, exactly the same amount of image delay from real time.

Mars can be observed on the agency’s official YouTube channel.

Researchers have been preparing the broadcast for months. Now the camera is at a height of 17.5 thousand km above the surface of Mars.

The Mars Express interplanetary station was launched on June 2, 2003. Initially, it was a technical camera for monitoring the Beagle 2 lander compartment. A few years later, it was redesigned into a Mars webcam.

Recall that earlier the company of the American billionaire Elon Musk SpaceX created a video that shows what the first flight to Mars will look like with people on board the latest Starship rocket.
