Soyuz MS-22 will deliver about 218 kg of cargo to Earth, including the results of scientific experiments.
A Russian Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft with a damaged radiator undocked from the International Space Station (ISS). It will return to Earth without a crew, Interfax reported on Tuesday, March 28.
According to the Mission Control Center (MCC), the spacecraft undocked from the Rassvet Small Research Module of the ISS Russian Segment at 11:57 Kyiv time. About two hours later, Soyuz MS-22 should touch down 147 km southeast of the Kazakh city of Zhezkazgan.
It is expected that the ship will deliver about 218 kg of cargo to Earth, including the results of scientific experiments and equipment to the station for analysis or reuse.
It will be recalled that on December 15, 2022, Roscosmos announced the damage to the skin of the Soyuz spacecraft on the ISS. Later in Russia they came to the conclusion that the ship was damaged by a meteoroid. The diameter of the damage on the surface of the ship’s instrument compartment is up to 1 mm.
It will be remembered that in February of this year, the damaged Russian ship Progress was flooded in the Pacific Ocean. It also had a coolant leak.
