WhatsApp continues to add management tools for the benefit of users, and always in terms of privacy and access control, which unknown accounts regarding our information and availability. With Communities, the app allowed the managed groups to be reordered, but also allowed others to access that database. WhatsApp will now add another step to stop this.
According to reports from WABetaInformationThe WhatsApp news tool, a sub-brand of Meta, is testing a feature in beta versions of Android that allows you to turn off calls from unknown numbers.
This new feature can be useful for people who don’t want to receive calls from unadded contacts, along with manual settings to restrict access to profile picture, online status, and last connected time.
Catches received WABetaInformation show new feature located in app settings. Once we activate this feature, calls from contacts not added to our list will not ring, although they will finally appear in the list of received calls and notifications.

WhatsApp will allow you to turn off calls from strangers
The publication notes that this new tool “can significantly reduce spam calls; due to the fact that in recent years there has been an increase in the number of calls of this type, both in unsolicited calls and in messages.
At the moment, there is no exact date when this new feature will become available to all users, nor a date for the transition to the beta phase on Android.
So far, part of WhatsApp’s innovations in terms of privacy have pointed to the redirection of “annoying” notifications and contacts to the conversation bar. Archiving chats, hiding statuses and profile photos are part of the measures implemented by Meta to reduce online harassment.
However, user participation in public groups whatsapp and access to online calls — such as groups to share stickers — can be an unnecessary disclosure to strangers. WhatsApp recommends adjusting your privacy settings and, if necessary, taking extreme measures such as number blocking and account reporting.
