The number of patients with certain viral infections has dropped sharply this season, the Center for Public Health notes.
Since the beginning of the epidemiological season since the beginning of October, two million people have fallen ill with influenza and SARS in Ukraine. This figure is 56.5% lower than the same period in 2021-2022. This was reported to the Center for Public Health (CPH) of Ukraine.
For the week from January 30 to February 5, more than 120 thousand patients were registered in medical institutions, the CPH notes. In addition, ARVI, influenza and COVID-19 were diagnosed in 58.6 thousand children under 17 years of age.
In the first week of February, no deaths due to viral diseases were recorded.
Currently in Ukraine is spreading:

SARS-CoV-2 viruses;

RS virus;

adenovirus;

metapneumoviruses.
The Public Health Center added that in the 2022-2023 epidemiological season, 12 flu deaths were officially registered, confirmed by PCR.
At the same time, no deaths among patients due to influenza were observed during the past epidemiological period.
