Germany will allocate 125 million euros in humanitarian aid and raise an additional 140 million euros for Ukraine’s development.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has promised to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine in the amount of 125 million euros. He said this at a donors conference on Thursday, May 5, according to Welt.
In addition, an additional 140 million euros is allocated for the development of Ukraine.
“Today we are pledging an additional 125 million euros for humanitarian support and measures to help build Ukraine’s resilience against aggression,” Scholz said.
He also informed that Germany will provide the immediate necessary liquidity for the Ukrainian budget: a special loan in the amount of 150 million euros has just been issued, another for the same amount will be prepared under an accelerated procedure.
It was previously reported that Germany would provide Ukraine with Cobra radar systems, which could detect enemy howitzers and mortars of 80 mm caliber and above.
The media also reported that Germany would provide Ukraine with seven Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers from Bundeswehr stocks.
