It has dozens of inscriptions in Greek, Syriac and Arabic. Currently, the cave is being prepared for public opening.

The Israel Antiquities Authority released photos after archaeologists worked in a 2,000-year-old cave believed to be the tomb of Salome, the midwife of Jesus Christ, Newsweek reports.

The tomb is located about 35.4 km southwest of Bethlehem in Tel Lachish National Park. Interestingly, it was first discovered by grave robbers in 1982. It was then excavated in the 1980s.

Initially identified as the tomb of Salome by local Christians during the Byzantine period, the cave became a place of pilgrimage.

In addition, archaeologists recently discovered a 350 square meter inner courtyard of the cave. It is decorated with intricate stone carvings and mosaic floors. It is believed that the cave, which contains several rooms, belonged to a wealthy Jewish family.

“We found dozens of these lamps covered with garnet ornaments and intricate geometric patterns,” said IAA archaeologist Zvi Firer.

It will be remembered that in Brazil in the city of Encantado, located in the south of the country, a new statue of Jesus Christ is being built, it is higher than the famous statue of Christ the Savior in Rio de Janeiro – 43 meters against 38.

In Spain, they made an exact copy of the tortured body of Jesus Christ
